China Articles - September 26, 2021
Friends,
This week’s newsletter starts with an article from Coda on what the Chinese Communist Party will do to discredit and disrupt investigations into their crimes against Uyghurs.
I would also encourage folks to read the report by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (article #6) on the trends they have witnessed of foreign interference in federally-funded medical research that threatens the integrity of the research enterprise. These comprise conflicts of interest and commitment, grant fraud, violations of peer review regulations and the theft of intellectual property. The overwhelming majority of the cases directly involve interference by the Chinese Government. The trends highlighted in this report serve as the foundation of many of the prosecutions by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Thanks for reading!
Matt
